Because they know there is a god and they know that God doesn't like them speaking all mean of him so they speak mean to people for believing in God because normal people cant hurt them. If you approach one of these men or women on the streets (lets say you stood 6'6'' 200 pounds) and they were 5'4'' 120 pounds, i bet they wouldn't make fun of your religion!
