But this would mean that the Pope, although he has died, is able to hear all things just like God. Because one would only call upon someone who is able to hear them. So can the Pope hear everything just like God?

You sound like the taunters to Jesus at the crucifixion.----- If you are really Gods son, come down off of that cross and save yourself.----Shame on you

Sister Pierre did not ask Pope John Paul to cure her. She and Pope John Paul both understand that only God can perform miracles.

Sister Pierre asked Pope John Paul to pray on her bahalf to God for God to cure her. She specifically asked Pope John Paul to pray for her because he suffered from the same disease and she felt that he would be compassionate to her pleas and pray for her.

People who have something in common ask each other to pray for them.

She didn't ask him to cure her - she asked for his intercession. Which means she asked him to take her request to God.

And it worked, thanks to God.

Thumbs up, Midge.

Since 2005, the Catholic church has kept the case quiet, conducting a secret investigation in which it has interviewed around 15 witnesses, including neurologists, university medical professors, a psychiatrist and a hand-writing analyst. Now satisfied that the mysterious recovery is medically inexplicable, the diocese of Aix-en-Provence will on Monday give its dossier to the Vatican. It is up to Pope Benedict XVI to rule whether it is a miracle. If he does, it would put the late John Paul II on the first step to sainthood.

On June 2 2005, two months after the pontiff's death, Marie-Simon-Pierre accepted her condition was so bad that she would have to resign from work. It was a difficult decision, being from a deeply observant Catholic family of five in northern France she had always felt a calling to serve in maternity. Her superior told her not to give up hope. "She asked me to write Jean Paul II on a piece of paper to give me strength. I didn't want to write in front of anyone because I had such difficulties, and if someone was watching me, it would be even harder. But I wrote Jean Paul II. It was almost illegible." Later the nun was "seized by a need to write". It was such an unusual urge that she couldn't even find a pen to hand. She wrote a few lines. "I looked at my writing and thought that's funny, your writing is very readable."

In the morning she was aware of a lack of the usual stiffness and pain. She said she felt an "inner strength". She went to the chapel at 4am, with none of her usual difficulty walking. "I realised that my body was no longer the same.

She must've asked for him to intercede for her.

Catholics do NOT worship the pope, saints, or Mary. Now that JPII is dead, one can ask for his intercessions to God. It'd be like getting your mom to ask your dad if its ok for you to do something. Your mom might have more influence than you do.

I guess it was God's will that JPII died.

Edit:
To clear some things up about saints and Mary:

We do NOT worship them. When we say we "pray to them" we mean that we ask them to intercede for us; its like asking a close friend to pray for you...except that close friend is already in Heaven and can go straight to the foot of God's throne. Why is that so bad? Personally I like the idea of saints praying FOR me; even better is Jesus' own mother praying for me
