You've got good instincts to be concerned about liking Ativan too much as it is a benzo and therefore addictive. I'd really suggest seeking therapy in addition to meds (wondering if it's post-partum depression) so you have an opportunity to talk with someone about all the changes that a new baby brings with it. Hormones are certainly still playing a role here, but a new baby impacts so many aspects of a person's life that it can often be overwhelming.
Good Luck!

Yes I think you have a problem but you realize it, Post partum I remember when! Don't worry about your weight I know it's hard but you just had your baby, it will come off. And it is good you realize you like Ativan, I used to like Xanax!! I don't know how long you have been on Prozac or Ativan, but if Prozac doesn't help have your Dr. switch you to something else. Ativan is for anxiety and it is highly addicting so do be careful. Try to think positive and about your beautiful new baby and talk to someone if you need too. A good therapist never hurts anyone, Good Luck

Sounds like you are suffering from a case of post-partum depression. It occurs after your child is born, and can last days, weeks, months, or years.
It is a treatable condition, speak to your family doctors, they will refer you to someone else if they can't help you.
If you are still SO unhappy, and you are being treated, perhaps Prozac is the wrong way to go for you? Your medication isn't supposed to make you feel worse, it is designed to elevate your low chemicals, causing those horrible low feelings you are having,,,,to level out,,,to give you the feeling of being better,,,,that is all it takes.
If you are still feeling hopeless and you have been on your med's for longer than a month, I would request a
re-evaluation and a different treatment option.
Focus on your precious new life!
Baby fat doesn't melt away
in a day, this ISN'T Hollywood babe, we are real,
this is the real world, that we live in,,,,
you are fine,,,relax,,,
stress wont help you melt pounds away,,,
get better, and take care of that little angel.
But don't abuse the drugs they give you,
if you like them that much, I suggest you throw them away.
Your child should become everything to you,
not what lies in a bottle.......
Good luck to you,,,
be careful

It sounds like you may have post natal depression. You are not alone, a lot of new mothers suffer with this and your best bet is to talk to someone you trust and get the help you need. Try talking to your family or partner and ask them to go to the doctor with you. You need to see adoctor because they can give you medication which will balance out the hormones that are going crazy because you have just had a baby. Don't worry about addiction, you are just using this medication to get well and help your body, you are in control ok. As for the baby weight, relax and be kind to yourself, it took almost a year to gain it and if you start taking care of yourself once you feel a little better it will just fall off naturally by walking your baby around and eating good wholesome meals. You need the help of loved and trusted people now, good luck and remember you are not alone, people care and you have a beautiful new baby to love.

Sometimes anti-depressants take time to work, maybe as long as six weeks. Ativan will help you to sleep. Don't worry about addiction. You would have to take high doses for a long time.
Since you are taking a combination of drugs, I hope you are seeing a psychiatrist. The meds you are taking are their area of expertise. Don't rely on family doctors to treat depression.
If the prozac is not working, make sure your doctor knows about it. There are others that work better for some people, like Zoloft.

talk to your doctor and ask him about your medication. And also ask him how much you should take. And if you still feel miserable make and appointment and talk to a different doctor. And if your still having problems after you see the doctor. Go to counciling.

Yes, by reading the description of how you are feeling I am led to believe that you have a problem.

Prozac isn't allowing you to feel -- all the stuff it's blocking stays inside you, creating problems. How I interpret it, anyhow.
