Ethanol has a flashpoint of 55 degrees f. Can Back fires - or Flash fires occur if Ethanol is used as a gasoline additive? The fumes at the pump could be a problem as well as an the use of cell phones in conjunction with Ethanol. I have witnessed more than one explosion with regards to Ethanol and cell phones. One occured on a Military base possibly Fort Benning and another occurred on a race track in Florida. Am I wrong about my concerns with regards to Ethanol?

For example, gasoline has a flash point of -40 degrees C (-40 F) and is more flammable than ethylene glycol (antifreeze) which has a flash point of 111 degrees C (232 F).
