Read the label. Canned soup is full of salt. You may find animal fat in the list of ingredients too. Best to make your own to control fat and salt content.

Ingredients
6 cups chicken stock
4 cups water
2 whole bone-in, skin-on chicken breasts, split in half [4 pieces]
1 Tablespoon butter
1 Tablespoon olive oil
1 1/2 cups diced celery
1 1/2 cups diced yellow onion
1 1/2 cups diced carrots
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 Tablespoon finely chopped fresh thyme
1 bunch broccoli, trimmed to the bud clusters and separated into tiny florets [about 2 cups]

Method
In a large stockpot over moderately high heat, combine stock, water, and chicken breasts and
bring liquid to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until chicken is cooked through, about 25 minutes. Remove chicken breasts, cool, and shred meat into bite sized pieces [about 4 cups].

Strain liquid through a cheesecloth and reserve. Wipe stockpot out thoroughly and return
to moderate heat. Melt butter and olive oil until foaming, then add celery, onions, and carrots.

Cook, stirring, occasionally, until vegetables begin to sweat, about 10 to 12 minutes. Stir in black pepper and thyme. Cook for several more minutes, stirring frequently, until the edges of the onions begin to color. Add liquid and return to a boil. Lower heat and simmer uncovered until flavors marry and vegetables are tender, about 35 minutes. Season with salt to taste and remaining thyme and more pepper if needed.

Just before serving: Remove pot from heat. Add shredded chicken and broccoli florets,
allowing the soup to sit long enough so chicken is warmed through [without becoming rubbery]
and broccoli is crisp-tender and beautifully colored, about 3 to 5 minutes.

generally no, but it's got so much sodium it can make you retain water. kinda depends on how much of it you eat. but honestly, there are so many other good foods out there it would be a shame to waste your calories on something as nutritionally worthless as canned chicken soup - even if it is campbell's. on the other hand, if you're craving some once in a while, no, it won't kill a diet. and if you're sick, add some onion, garlic and cayenne pepper - that way it will have a bit more therapeutic kick.

I would think how much of it are you going to eat?
The noodle variety says it is 3% of daily fat intake if you consume only 1/2 cup of the 2.5 serving 10 3/4 can.
So if you eat the whole can it is 7 1/2% of daily fat.
Now here is another concern or problem. It is 890 mg of salt for 1/2 cup of soup. If you ate the whole can of chicken noodle soup, it would be 890+890+445=2225 mg of salt.
Another concern is cholesterol. It is 5% of daily intake for 1/2 cup. So 5+5+2.5 and you are 12 1/2 % of government suggested maximum.

So I guess it depends on how much you eat, your metabolism and exercise regime and genetics. So drink warm water instead and smell the soup cooking but do not eat it!

simple, when you open the can, you can see all the fat that has floated to the top. On top of that it is loaded with sodium. Make your own it would be way better for you!
