A really interesting discussion:

The athiest Sam Harris won hands down, in my opinion.

Because of my perspective as a nontheist, I was more impressed with Sam Harris' arguments than Pastor Warren's, but I thought they both did a pretty good job representing their respective positions. Harris clearly had the pastor on the ropes over the "God sent me an immigration attorney" story, and Warren continued to show his weakness by relying on stereotypes (atheists are all angry people) and silly arguments (If life is just random chance, then nothing really matters and there is no morality).

It's hard to imagine anybody coming to this discussion without a preexisting opinion, so people are simply going to favor the point of view that more closely matches their own. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that rational discussion can change anyone's mind on this topic.

I think it depends on ones original point of view.

Well half way through, yeah, I see Sam ripping him, but I expected that point of view. Pastor warrens personal miracle about meeting an attorney didn't impress me.

I clearly preferred Sam's perspectives.

Both of their ideas seemed so alien to me. I'm convinced that there are millions of people out there whose beliefs and ideas weren't covered at *all*.

whoever may have seemed to win this debate- we will now what is the truth when Jesus comes again and proves that He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords- and the debate will be over, and I pray for people like Harris who don't believe that before that day they will, because then they too will kneel bow the Lord- I chose to do that know.- so that I can live forever with Him.
