In the state of Michigan how old does somebody need to be to have the title of a car in his/her name? Also how old does somebody have to be to register it, and possibly if you know this too how much does a vanity plate cost?

In general, you must be old enough to legally enter into a contract in that state. The other person can not sell you a car or a service if you are a minor as your parents can simply invalidate the contract. That lets out insurance too.
