I know someone that just had an arrest warrant issued on them. How will this person ever be arrested? Is there like a certain time of the month that cops go and arrest them? I understand they will get arrested if pulled over or something. But what if that never happens?

~As a matter of constitutional law, warrants can only be executed on the odd numbered Tuesdays, even numbered Wednesdays and the 1st and 3rd (and 5th if there is one) Thursday of each month.

Like ilovemytC said, if it's serious enough and they have a good idea of where your friend is then they may go arrest him. There is no schedule or time frame for when this might be. Some areas will suspend a persons driver's license over outstanding warrants. It is possible to avoid an arrest warrant, but not likely if the warrant has been entered into the NCIC database and/or the states equivalent database. Anytime that he is stopped by law enforcement, involved in an accident, needs to report a crime, has a background check performed for a job or firearm purchase, visits a corrections facility, etcetera he will be subject to arrest.

His best course of action is to call and ask about the warrant (What is it for, is there a bond already set and how much). If it's a serious crime, like a felony, he should contact an attorney and make arrangements to turn himself in. If it's a minor misdemeanor and a bond has already been set he may still want to contact an attorney, but he can also contact a bondsman, surrender himself, and make bond.

It's better to make arrangements and turn yourself in on your terms than to be arrested on the side of the road at 2 in the morning and have your car towed and everyone worrying about where you are and what happened to you.

It depends on the severity of the crime. If this is for something serious, the cops will have a special unit covering warrants, and they will be investigating this "friends" known locations, residences, etc. and will be looking for him/her. When the find them or decide it is the right place/time to arrest they will. If it is really really serious, they might have the SWAT team make entry to serve a warrant on a house.

Basically, if the police feel like you are a high enough threat that they need to go pick you up, they will do so. This would be a case where you have a warrant on suspicion of murder or something bad like that. For something like vandalism or failure to appear in court, they will only arrest you if they happen upon you for something else (for example: a traffic stop).

When they go to renew thier drivers license, and of course if stoped for some other reson, but depending on how serious warrant. Most departmetns have a small grouop that does warrants, so basicly when they get around to it.
The more serious the warrant, the faster it will be.

incredibly? What are uk officers asserting? "Israel's ambassador to London, Ron Prosor, conferred with officers interior the British Ministry of Justice who informed him that they have been blind to any criminal criticism or arrest warrant against the former distant places minister." And Livni? "Livni's workplace pronounced in a fact following the record that her visual attraction on the London experience replaced into canceled 2 weeks in the past with the aid of a scheduling conflict." Who delivered this subject up, then? "opposition chief Tzipi Livni on Monday canceled her participation in a Jewish function in London, after a warrant for her arrest replaced into issued over area in final iciness's Israel's Gaza offensive, Arab-language media have pronounced. " ok, first, there's a time discrepancy between the Arab source and Livni's workplace on while she cancelled her participation. 2nd, what function did Livni incredibly have interior the operation? finally, the source is Al-Quds Al-Arabi, which i think of could have the chutzpah to print the form of slanderous tale. no one else claims that Livni has a warrant against her. I merely desire Haaretz did a greater effective activity of highlighting Al-Quds Al-Arabi's idiotic claims.

Depends on the police force in your area. Most of them are too lazy, and aren't worried about it if it's a minor offense. If the charges are hardcore, then they will make stronger efforts to locate the person.
I had a friend that had a warrant on her ex for failure to pay child support...it went on for months! We had to stop him ourselves, call the PD and tell them where we had him and demand they come pick him up! They don't give a rip unless it's a major crime.

You'll get arrested when they realise it's you. They could come searching or it may happen by chance. If it never happens then you obviously won't get arrested!
