Yes they have that right I would think. If somebody is 9 months pregnant and is on a long flight who knows what could happen. The Airlines do not want to be responsible for the mother and baby.

I can't blame them in this sue happy country. Instead of people taking responsibility for themselves they blame others and sue them.

BTW pregnant women are not a race

It has nothing to do with prejudice- they check everybody's visas and documents before they board the plane.
It is a safety issue- pregnant women are prone to blood clots, and air travel increases the risk. Also, the change in pressure can induce preterm labor, so the airlines really do not want to deal with a woman giving birth on a plane.

Doctors tell women not to travel after a certain month of their pregnancy. Its to protect the woman and her baby if she would go into labor at 30,000 feet with no doctor or facilities for birth.
Its not about racism at all ,pregnant women come in all races. Its always been that way with airlines ,they don't want to be sued in case something bad happens to the mother or the baby. When I was pregnant with our daughter my doctor wouldn't let me ride in a car for the last 4 months of my pregnancy for fear of complications.

It's not a crime against a race- they do not allow women more than 7 months pregnant on the plane- regardless of what their nationality or color is. Even if a white woman is flying from Chicago to Atlanta they will still tell her that she cannot do this. This is done to prevent women having babies onboard while the plane is in the air.

As a mom, I can tell you that it is unsafe for the mother and baby to travel past a certain point. WIth both of my pregnancies, my doctor "grounded" me at 7.5 months. And at 8 months, I was not supposed to be more than 50 miles from the hospital. Its about health, not race. Trust me, at nine months of pregnancy, the last place you want to be is cooped up in those small seats, and trying to squeeze into those restrooms. Of course, if there is an emergency, and you HAVE to travel, that should be ok with a doctor's ok.

oh shut up!!! you will use any excuse to use the racist card. they have a limit because a woman can go into labor on the plain. there is no hospitals in the sky if the mother or baby needs emergency help. my uncle is 79 years old, 35% of his lungs work. they will not let him fly when he wants to go to ocean side Calif to visit his daughter. and guess what, he's WHITE. so is he being discriminated because of his race or could it be his health? hhmmm i wonder.

Yes. If a woman is in 8th or 9th month of pregancy, they shouldn't be flying anyway. And if some dimwit decides to fly as she's ready to pop-- an airline has every right to say, "you're not flying".

How is it racists? Preg. women are not a race.

Well, in the first place, "pregnancy" is not a race. It's a condition.

Secondly, the airlines are not required to transport anyone. They are private businesses and can refuse to do business with anyone for any reason.

If you owned an airline and could be liable for the well-being of your passengers, would you want to transport someone who was going to imminently deliver?

Not racist since women of all races get pregnant. Is it disciminatory, not really- its a safety precaution. A woman's doctor will tell her she shouldn't travel by air after the 36th week because the pressure fluctuations could cause premature labor (at least my doctor did).

Anything that can be done to discourage women from getting pregnant should be done. There are too many people on the planet now.
