People who did not have the opportunity to know Jesus or understand the concept of God will not be held accountable for their transgressions. They died without having an awareness of either place, heaven or hell. This would include young children who were unable to understand, people with severe retardation etc., people who had not yet received the word of Jesus etc. At the time of judgement which will be after Jesus returns, all people, will be judged based on either their works, belief or on their innocence It is my understanding that only those people who were martyrs or saints (according to Revelation) actually got to enter heaven upon their death. The rest of us will have to wait. Perhaps when Jesus said that the meek shall inherit the earth he was speaking of those people who lived good lives but did not know him because they were born earlier or did not have the capacity to understand. That is just a thought...not an interpretation of the scripture.

No one was resurrected to haven until after Jesus died. That's what the tearing of the curtain in the temple between the Holy and the Most Holy represented.The way being opened up to heaven.
The Bible speaks of three classes of people: the righteous, the unrighteous, and the wicked. The righteous are those who know what is right and do it. The unrighteous are those who have never learned what is right, and so aren't held accountable until they are taught and make their choice. The wicked are those who know what is right and refuse to do it.
People who never learned, such as Native Americans, would be considered unrighteous, and so not held accountable until they are resurrected and taught.

1.The christian belief is that before Jesus, God established his laws in the old testament as a way of giving people the opportunity to live a life that could allow them to enter heaven... through things like not breaking the ten commandments and other laws, making sacrifices, etc.
2. God gives us the Bible as a way of letting us know his will, but even without it people have a sense of what is right and wrong. If people are trying to follow God's will or are simply unaware that they are doing wrong, they aren't judged for that. Sin is an intentional act of disobedience to God, so people without knowledge of Christ wouldn't be judged in exactly the same way as people who know and choose to do things their own way instead.

For your first question:
John 3:13 in the words of Jesus "And no man hath ascended up to heaven.."
No mention was made of anyone going to heaven before Jesus came to the earth.
2) The hope of going to heaven is only for a few faithful christians who have been anointed with holy spirit - 144,000 (Revelation 14:1-4) and they have work to do in working with Jesus as part of God's Kingdom (Rev 5:10). Everyone else, including all those native South Americans, and everyone who died before Jesus came to the earth have the hope of being resurrected back to the earth at some future date (John 5:28,29)

i don't know what other dude is talking about "the bible states very clearly", nothing in the bible is easily understood unless interprited by a pastor, priest or someone with mass knowledge and an understanding of what they believe the bible truly says?
they didn't, the old testement states that the only way into heaven was to "not break any of the ten commandments". According to the church we are all siners, even a new born child is born with sin.
2n'd, The natives of north america had only their own "made up gods" they did not know of any "great creator" until we got here.....
.....maybe we made up our god too........plausable concidering the "new testement" was written between 200-350 ad....

The first answer to your question is this, no man, no matter when in time he was born has assended into heaven as of yet. The Bible states very clearly that those that are to enter into heaven will only do so at the time of Christ recieveing the Church unto Himself. This at the time of the Rapture. The second answer to your question is in Romans. Rom 2:12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
Rom 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Rom 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
Rom 2:15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
Rom 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
Rom 2:17 Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God,
Rom 2:18 And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law;
Rom 2:19 And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,
Rom 2:20 An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.
Ever human has lived under a law of God from Adam to today. If they lived without law they will be judged on their works, weather they were good or evil.

After the crucifiction, Jesus descended into hell and brought those who were deserving to heaven with Him. It's in the bible.
This is one of the reasons the bible tells us that Jesus is the judge, He can judge by the heart. This is why these christians that keep telling other people they're going to hell are committing blasphemy, pretending they are Him. No one on this earth has the right to tell another they're going to hell.

I have seen the correct answer to the first part of your question scattered through the other answers. Christ taught about a holding place where the righteous were comforted after their death. It was referred to as Abraham's bosom.
The second part is more difficult. Each man that enters the world has a spark of the divine in him. If a person response to that spark and brings forth the fruits of righteousness in their lives, kindness, mercy, a longing for goodness. This is the light of Christ and they will be judged on those terms.... Jim

In Acts, Jesus Christ goes into to Hell to redeem all the lost souls that passed away before His coming. These were the believers that knew God but because they were born into sin not fully redeemed by atonement thru the priest, they were in Hell. Jesus Christ went into Hell and took back the keys of death and the grave and took back those believing souls with Him to Heaven. He took back authority of death from satan and allow people the choice to worship God thru His Bloodshed or suffer with satan in Hell.
Clearly we all have a choice as seen in the verse where God gives a choice and tells us the right choice:
Deuteronomy 30:19 (Amplified/King James Parallel Bible)
I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live...
We have the choice to live an abundant life blessed by God thru His Son Jesus Christ!!
Oh yeah, how do you know that those people did not know about the Lord?? God knows everything and is everywhere. Give praise, glory, and honor to the Lord Almighty!!
Be blessed!!

The Mormons believe the native americans to be a lost tribe of Isreal and the garden of eden was in Kansas. Funny the DNA tests don't support this and the Garden explanation includes a land bridge to the holy lands. Sometimes I think these people exist for those who enjoy watching the cavorts of the village idiot.
What?....all the native americans from pre columbian times are going to hell????? Hilarious and you vote????!!!!!!!
