The placement of the piercing has nothing to do with what's "better", providing there's no extenuating medical situation that would prevent you having one side pierced. You can ask the opinions of your friends or hold a small stud up to your face to check which side you think the piercing looks better on. Most piercers will talk with you about the placing process before the actual piercing, anyways. It's completely up to you.

I had my nose pierced for about five months, and had no trouble with healing or cleaning. The piercer will explain everything you should and shouldn't do to take care of your piercing, so as long as you follow directions, you shouldn't have any problems during the healing period.

As for the pain, it's really not that bad -- just like any other piercing, there will be a sharp pain, but it never lasts for very long and it's probably nothing you can't handle. Just don't psych yourself up before hand, remain calm and you'll have no problems with it. The only major discomfort I felt was when the piercer was putting in the jewellery, and even that was minimal.

If you decide further down the road that you regret this piercing, it's also very easy to heal completely. As I said, after five months, I was tired of having to cover my nose with a bandaid for work every day (which you should also consider, because it can set you back a bit in work, although it's becoming more and more popular recently), so I removed the jewellery and let it go. Within two days the piercing was, at the least, surface-healed (I couldn't find the opening if I had tried). It's been nearly a year since I removed it, and I don't see any major scars -- If you hadn't known me with the piercing, you wouldn't be able to tell, unless you got pretty upclose and personal about it.

Hope this helps!

I have my nose pierced and I'm also part pakistani. It looks good only if the stud is realllly small. Email me at danameizshowty1@yahoo.com and I'll give you the link to buy them online. They're super cheap then buying them at the mall. Also don't get it pierced from a desi jewelry shop bc then it will get infected. Go to a tattoo/piercing place. Make sure they peirce it with a needle not a ear piercing gun. Again same thing with infection.

I strongly suggest you go to a professional body piercer and depending on your location safepiercing.org is a great place to look for reputable and certified piercers.

As far as getting it done, its done a little differently from shop to shop, you can find the basics of it here:

Any piercing can become infected, but if you have it done in a clean environment by a skilled piercer and if you take care of the piercing while it heals.

Its not 'better' to get left or right, its just a personal choice which side you put it on. From what I've experienced more girls get it done on the left. I myself, have both nostrils pierced.

Go to a reputable piercer, take care of your piercing while it heals and you should be okay. If at any point you have concerns or questions its strongly suggested that you go back to the person who pierced you and speak with them.

i think a small stud is perfectly fine and looks really good. i did not get any sort of infection, just make sure you clean it with a salt-water solution daily. and when you're getting it pierced, don't be afraid to ask as many questions as you want to the piercer until you feel as if you're well informed and comfortable. i got mine on the right side since even though its not obvious, there is a side of your face which is slightly longer [it's hard to explain] and you are supposed to get the piercing there. once again, ask the person's opinion if you want to. good luck!

I don't think left or right side matters, but beware that there's a "gay" side and "straight" side of your body for having piercings - eg nipple or eyebrow. Left side is straight, but I dont know if this is the same with the nose.

I don't like girls with nose studs anyway, I think it makes them look really cheap & the kind who go with "kale", but it's your choice.

Also remember that if you have a hole in your nose you might get forced to put a big gold hoop in it on your wedding day!

It's entirely up to you. I think it would be fine, especially if it's part of your culture. I pierced my nose myself once, but I let it heal up. It took a while to get it through, but it didn't hurt bad. I would get it done professionally, because it wouldn't take as long and probably wouldn't hurt.

probable a nostril piercing because the position I stay abdomen button piercings are extremely effortless and nostril piercings look tremendous (i'm talking about the area of your nostril in case you mean the interior then abdomen button because the interior piercings make you seem to be a bull)

i have mine done, i luv it!!! i`ve had mine for 5+ years & i`ll never regret getting it, it`s such a part of me that i feel naked when i don`t have my stud or ring in!!! u can get it on either side, it doesn`t matter, just choose the side u think will look best for u...it doesn`t hurt to have it done & as long as u go to a professional & follow the after-care procedures, u should be fine!!!

i suggest thet you get it done on both sides and wear single stone nose pins.It would look fabulous on you.People of PAKISTAN and INDIA are lucky that nose piercing is part of their culture.I have got it done on both nostrils and it is absolutely thrilling and almost painless,I have the flexibility of wearing nose pins on left or right side or both sides. It rarely gets infected.
