I saw something interesting about dog massage and yoga in the paper today. The massaging of the back and spine, muscles and legs helps them to relax.

This might be beneficial to do before drop time.
If he relaxes he might be more cooperative.

My Husband just had two eye surgeries this month. We were doing 20 drops a day for three weeks. He could be asleep, I would touch his shoulder and he would be ready for the drops.. It is challenging.

If Nancy's idea doesn't work (usually will as long as the dog doesn't try to wiggle and wrestle away) try this:

kneel on one side of dog
place one arm over his neck
put other arm under the neck in headlock to hold him
then use the arm that was over his neck to squeeze the drops in while your arm under holds open eye.
Switch sides and repeat

you should try only if you are his feeder...or you are the one who feed him.......else it may be a bit problematic...... the person who feed him can put hands in his jaws but not other.....

now the trick is ...... let him be flat on floor

in the sleeping position on right side you can just use drops in left eyes

and vice versa

most dogs do not move if in sleeping posiiotn
