First off don't get yourself upset, about crying. You are at a very emotional stage of development, and it is very natural to get upset, even get upset easily. Your friends should not be making fun of you or being mean to you. If they are, than maybe try to find other friends that wont hurt you. When in comes to your brothers and sisters, just remember that they are trying to make you cry, and if you cry they win. Think to yourself how stupid is that? and what kind of person wants to make someone cry? tell them that. ask them, why they get pleasure out of hurting someone, and thank goodness you arent like that. Just be strong, and know that you can be strong.

oh, how I can relate....from my jr. high school days. I even joined the Marines partly to keep from crying easily. Didn't help lol...but I did learn to control the tears better (and i learned that even tough Marines cry sometimes, too...as do schoolyard bullies when no one is looking)...

some ideas from an "older softie?"

you might try taking deep breaths.

use a focal point to center on to distract yourself. There's a reason for the term "stiff upper lip"... it's difficult to do and if you focus on literally doing that it may stop the tears in its tracks...

just tell yourself...what they are saying says more about THEM then it does about you

or start laughing on purpose....like they've just told the funniest joke ever... it will confuse them lol...

and if you do cry, so what? it's their problem if they can't handle human emotions... you do NOT have to keep your feelings in, in fact it's unhealthy to do so and could come out later as extreme anger...case in point? various school shootings like Littleton, CO.

anyway, if the kids and siblings are constantly picking at you, and you can HONESTLY say you didn't provoke it, their behavior may constitute harassment and/or abuse, and that is where parents, and other responsible adults come into the equation. Don't be afraid to speak up and request authoritative help to get the others to stop with the abuse and harassment. You don't have to take it.

Sometimes it is hard to be overly emotional .... trust me I feel like I would cry if someone looked at me funny. Okay it will take some time but you have to work with your feelings and what sets you off and upsets you or makes you cry becasue when you know the :little: things that are getting to you can prepare yourself for what they could say and work up where things like that won't effect you at all.

For me it worked best with just time and really noticing why I was getting so upset and emotional most of the time I was getting overly worked up for NO reason. After learning what worked for me to "cool" off and walk away from the situation that I could sense would get my emotions going I have learned to ignore all that.

Good luck

umm...why do they make fun of you? what is WRONG with your siblings?? i think you should make some friends..people who you have something in common with. Dont ever let someone make you feel bad about yourself. Put it THIS way.....anyone who acts like THEY are acting, has something wrong with THEM. Either they are jealous of you for some reason, maybe because your nice, or do you get good grades?? When they are mean..walk away...roll your eyes and pretend like they are the most IMMATURE thing you have ever seen. Act like you are the most awesome creature EVER created, pretend your walking down the red carpet, or pretend like you are talking to some idiot you don't even know. Laugh to yourself, or out loud and WALK AWAY. if your home, walk to your room, or the bathroom, turn on music/tv/the shower and do something for yourself. paint your nails, take a bubble bath and read a fashion magazine. If your in school, walk away and sit down in class, or go to your locker and pull out a magazine or notebook and put it in your bag, act like your doing something that DOESNT concern them. People hate that!! TRUST me...but if you feel better about yourself which you SHOULD...they can see that, and they wont be so eager to bother you...you can e-mail me if you want to .(just add an edit to your question and ill give you my addy) either way....good luck.;0)

Emotions are hard to control but it doesn't hurt to try. You can simply not care about what they say. Apathy is a great cure. Just don't care about other people's opinion that hurt you. I know easier said than done but everything takes practice. Good Luck!

crying will only make it worse because they know it will get to you. you can't take what they say to heart, try to brush it off and think about compliments you have gotten before until you feel better. if the comments are really mean and you feel that you are being bullied tell someone you trust ( corny i know sry). hang in their girl!

Tell yourself to stop being a big cry baby. If that doesn't work look in the mirror. You just might laugh at yourself.

Suck it up!!! Then get loud and go off on one of them in public to show them how it feels to be ridiculed. Later apologize and let them know that is how you feel when they pick on you. Be strong and look confident. Chance are they do it because they know you will cry.
