could it be muscatel? weirdo. A Snake Bite is

1/2 pint lager
1/2 pint dry cider

Pour ingredients into a pint glass and drink.

the previous poster was correct on what a snake bite is. But Muscatel is also known as muscat, which is a rather sweet dessert wine made from the muscat grape. Also called moscato..

I don't know about the wine, but where I used to tend bar a snakebite was Yukon Jack (yack) & lime juice!
