Walking is a great form of cardio exerise, but the weight you lose depends on a variety of things. 10,000 steps is not the same for everyone. They say 10,000 steps is 5 miles. But for me since I have a small stride length, it's more like 3.6 miles. How much weight you lose depends on how fast you walk and how much you weigh as well. I If you walk 10,000 steps at a snails pace, you will not lose as much as if you were power walking. Also, if you the more you weigh the more calories you will burn. Incline helps as well, so if you use a treadmill, increase the incline, or if you walk outside choose a hilly route.

Also keep in mind that online calculators and pedometers are only estimates of your calorie burn, but they can give you a good starting point. It takes 3500 calories to burn off a pound. A good online calculator can be found on Sparkpeople. You have to join, but it is simple and free. Good walking routes can be found on RunningAhead

10,000 steps a day is a minimum healthy amount. So, you willl only be maintaining your weight if you are also eating the same amount of calories as you need. Otherwise you might gain a bit.

How about keeping this, and also adding some more excersize? Try some more active cardio, like jogging or biking. Good luck!

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats, take 300-400 calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
5-8servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water a day
5-6 small meals instead of 3 big ones (breakfast is the most important - make sure to get complex carbs like whole wheat bread, oatmeal, fruit etc)
4-6 times a week cardio for 30-50min, light weight training, many reps
no junk food, no sodas, no alcohol, no white flour (cakes, cookies, white bread, pasta etc.), nothing high in sugar (ice cream)

People who plan their weekly meals are usually successful at losing weight than individuals who don’t. Plan your dishes to add healthy carbs such as fairly sweet potato and wholegrain pasta, vegetables and lean proteins, buy the many ingredients in advance and don’t be tempted to nibble on out or order in.

Suck the item in. Consciously hold in and contract your stomach muscles while you’re walking, sitting your desk or making the supper. This will help to strengthen your ab muscles and your core, and provide one step closer to some sort of flatter stomach.
