FROM THE MENU: GO TO IMAGE, --SIZE --
IN THE WINDOW PUT DIMENSION NEEDED, BE SURE YOU ARE IN INCHES, NOT IN PIXELS

If adobe won't do it for you..
There are two ways to do this if you just want to print the pictures, open them in Windows Picture and Fax viewer. Choose the size you want to print them in and the program will automatically reduce them to that size and print them.

Two open then in Windows Paint go to view and click on stretch and skew. Use the Horizontal and Vertical to reduce them by x % Then see attributes to see what size they are.
You can get them to the correct size. This also reduces the file size if you want to e-mail them.

There are other programs that will re size photos. Some free like photo re sizer http://www.download.com/Simple-Photo-Resizer/3000-12511_4-10610972.html?tag=lst-0-9 some cost like ACDSee http://www.acdsee.com/
