Because their parents told them it was a lie.
If their parents told them god was a lie they would also stop believing.
Children are impressionable. If they are never told Santa is a lie, they would believe in him today.

Because there's not a big global profit-based conspiracy to keep adults believing in santa. There is a global profit-based conspiracy to pressure parents into perpetuating the myth of santa so they will still buy presents...it's pretty much the same thing.

What you are asking proves a point. People do not believe a lie forever. Jesus is truth and dear old Santa is just a passing fade to enjoy while young.

BEats me. Id rather beleive in Santa. At least when you screw up with him, youre given a lump of coal and another chance the following year. With God, you get one chance - and if you miss the boat, its eternity in Hell...
Out of the two mythologies, Santa is far greater.

Thats because the ancestors of the people who believed in God were high on reefer. Unfornuately it passed on down from generation to generation somehow.
