Superman was never portrayed as an atheist, at least not to my knowledge. Had he been reared on Krypton, he would have believed in a Kryptonian religion, if such a thing even existed on Krypton. But since his birth parents sent him to Earth and he landed in the Midwestern region of the United States, Clark Kent/Superman was brought up in a Protestant Christian faith (probably Methodist) by his adoptive parents, Jonathan and Martha Kent.
Christopher Reeve was a Unitarian Universalist.

Reader's Digest: "You went nearly 50 years without religion in your life. What made you recently join the Unitarian Church?"
Reeve: "It gives me a moral compass. I often refer to Abe Lincoln, who said, 'When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad. And that is my religion.' I think we all have a little voice inside us that will guide us. It may be God, I don't know. But I think that if we shut out all the noise and clutter from our lives and listen to that voice, it will tell us the right thing to do. The Unitarian believes that God is good, and believes that God believes that man is good. Inherently. The Unitarian God is not a God of vengeance. And that is something I can appreciate."

Superman is not an atheist. It s widely believed that he is Protestant,. In fact, both Elliot S Maggin and Mark Miller who have worked on the comics have publicly stated that he is a Methodist.

maximum folk like Spider-guy or the two Superman. There are those that like the others like Flash, Batman, Iron guy, and so on. i like Superman's powers, yet I want Spider-guy extra i think of b/c Spider-guy seems exciting and funky, his powers. perhaps the flicks help portray it that way. in my view, Superman is extra old variety and has person-friendly superpowers that lots of superheroes very own. Spider-guy is extra unique.

OK, you do know that Superman is an imaginary person, right? You know, like leprachauns, the tooth fairy, and pink unicorns....
I just wanted to clarify that before I get my drink.
Today, I'm having Mountain Dew, with just a splash of Cap'n Morgan......
;-)

The chances of Superman actually existing are greater than the chances of Christianity actually being true.
