If that's what you really really really want then go for it.
But usually great tattoos find you and they are meaningful and personal. Sure you like Tinkerbell, but do you LOVE that idea? Are you 110% sure that's the tattoo for you? I say no because you had to ask here.
Just take your time figuring out what to get, there is plenty of time to get a tattoo and you should never rush out and get one just because.

It's entirely your decision, but my feeling is that the best tattoos are the ones that have some real personal significance to the wearer.
Now, maybe Tinkerbell does have massive personal significance to you. If, for (totally made up and random) example, someone's dad always called them Tinkerbell as a nickname when they were little, and he'd passed away and they wanted a way to remember him, then a tattoo of Tinkerbell would be a lovely way of doing that. Because in that sort of situation, you'd never get bored of Tinkerbell; she'd always represent something to you.
Because I think that's the danger of just picking something fairly random because it looks pretty; you may get fed up with it over time. Whereas if you pick something deeply meaningful to you personally, that's much less likely to happen.
So, in answer to your question of 'how to pick the perfect tattoo' I'd say you need to spend time reflecting on yourself, your interests, your ambitions, your personality; and then see how these things can be represented in a tattoo. You could have a tattoo of more or less anything, and there's bound to be something that feels meaningful to you. A good tattoo artist can come up with a custom design based on your ideas, and that way you can have something unique and personal (and when people ask you what it 'means', which they will, you'll have something to tell them.)
I'm not going to tell you not to get Tinkerbell - if that's what you want, then go for it. At the end of the day this is your tattoo, not mine, so pick whatever makes you happy.
Hope this helps!

it's totally up to you, but i think it would be a lot cooler to have something more original than tinkerbell. you could get someone to draw you a really cool picture of a fairy and have the tattoo artist copy it- that way it will be more unique and fitting to you instead of just using a disney character that is all over the place

i would never get a tinkerbell tattoo.... so horribly overdone and it seems like something that you'd grow out of.
i just know when i find the right tattoo for me. there are some that i have to think on and those are the ones that i know aren't right for me. so if you're not sure about a certain design then move on to something else.

cutie.....if it's small and does not look like the Tinkerbell cartoon character...just a little fairy. Go to the library and
trace something you like out of an old book.

Doesn't matter what we think. You are the one who has to look at it forever.
If you have any hesitations about what you have chosen for your tattoo then it is not the one for you. When you find the one you need to have you will know coz you won't have a hint of hesitation.
It will let you know it's the one.
Sounds weird I know but that's the way it seems to work.

I have a small star on top of my foot. I just always knew that if I got a tattoo this is what I would get. It is so simple, and means so much to me. Whatever you get it has so mean something to you I think. That way how can you ever get sick of it!?

May I make a suggestion? Go and find one of those removable ones first and put it where you would like your Tattoo to be, then if you decide you don't like it, you can try somewhere else.
I have a bird of paradise on my right shoulder and I wish now that I had had it done between my shoulder blades.

I agree the TAT picks you but you pick the artist so be careful and take your time picking him/her, and don't get anything you would not show your mother that way u'll never have a regret for what picked you. ( P.S. fastest way to regret is someones name)
