People have been predicting the Second Coming since right about the time of the First Coming (see link below). Why? Well for one, the fulfillment of prophecy in your belief system validates your belief system. If I believe that Jesus will be resurrected then I want that to happen. If I want it to happen, it's better to have it happen sooner rather than later.

If I am living the way of Jesus then I want to reap my rewards here on earth rather than wait until I die. Oh, and it doesn't hurt one bit that I will be able to smugly witness the smiting of those who ridiculed me. In other words, the End of Times is my cozy little safety blanket.

Revelations belongs with the Gospels no more than On the Road belongs with the Gospels. It's more in tune with the Old Testament than it is the NT. It is a disjointed book added years after Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were written. As a book it could even have predated Jesus. Personally I think the Papacy added it as a further control on the peasants. It and hell are the stick and heaven the carrot in the "stick and the carrot" form of the Papacy controlling the behavior of the masses.

Take the message of Jesus from the four Gospels and only the Gospels. The OT has nothing to do with the message of Jesus. Revelations has nothing to do with the message of Jesus. The writings of Paul are personal interpretations (and the beginning of canonizing) of the work of Jesus. He never met Jesus, so take his writings with a grain of salt.

Yes he will be here soon. He gives the prophetic signs in

Matthew 24
Mark 13
Luke 21

The main sign i think is the rebuilding of a third Jewish temple so that the "abomination of desolation" prophecies are full filled.

Daniel prophesying

Daniel 11:31(KJV)
And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

Daniel 12:11(KJV)
And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

Jesus speaking

Matthew 24:15(KJV)
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Mark 13:14(KJV)
But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

My understanding currently is that this event takes place halfway through the 7 year tribulation period then the "great tribulation" happens for the remaining 3 1/2 years. More than likely we will die during this time but it don't matter because we come back with our Lord Jesus to receive our resurrected bodies. If we have endured till the end and have remained alive then we receive our glorified bodies without having experiencing a physical death.

Jesus is not coming back he could not come back if he wanted to.He was human like you and I .They hid his body after death to give people hope. Was he the son of God or just another Evangelist like the ones on TV? We don't know do we? The bible is all people base the history of Jesus on and it was written by man to get man to do the right things in life.So the bottom line is believe what you want maybe your right maybe not.Best not to put much faith in all the religious stuff just live a good honest life and you will have your rewards.

Jesus said that no one will be able to predict when He will come back. There's no use in trying to figure it out; just be prepared at all times! If I were FORCED to guess, however (lol), I would guess that it will be sometime within the next 100 years, just because the world situation seems to be getting worse and worse, and it's already pretty bad!

He's coming like a thief in the night, no one expecting him. He could come any time.
He comes everyday down upon the altars in the Most Blessed Sacrament, and you can receive him in holy communion.

After death you will face Jesus as your judge.

I'm happy you believe in Jesus.
But you can figure all that out for yourself by reading the bible.

The end of times was supposed to have happened during the lives of Jesus's listeners... it didn't happen then; it's not going to happen now!

The bible is full of lies, read it and discover them....

"Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom." -- Matthew16:28

"But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God." -- Luke 9:27

"Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation." -- Matthew 23:36

"Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." -- Matthew 24:34

"Nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven." -- Matthew 26:64

"Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power." -- Mark 9:1

"Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done." -- Mark 13:30

"And ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven." -- Mark 14:62

"Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled." -- Luke 21:32

"Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?" -- John 21:22
