I used to answer them as rationally as I could. Now I just make satire answers up... I get far more thumbs down now, but I get a laugh or too (& others do as well, I also get a decent amount of thumbs up).

If I have something intelligent to add, yes. I have often answered questions directed at Muslims (and even gotten some best answers, memorably a question about whether something was haraam or not) and Jews, because I have researched those religions in some depth, including multiple readings of the full Qu'ran and in depth study of Kabbalah including reading the Sefer Yetzirah and parts of the Sefer Zohar.
It's not a question of if the question is directed or not, it's a question of if you can contribute meaningfully.

Hmmm.
Honestly I do answer questions that aren't aimed at me. Sometimes I do it to highlight the rediculousness of the question other times I do because I think the question is an interesting one.
Maybe I should try your strategy and see if it makes a difference.

I pick my battles. Besides, I like to actually answer questions in a thoughtful way to earn my points for the day. I figure I'll stop that pretty soon and just answer everything with my favorite line from "The Tick". He and his sidekick are searching for a battlecry and the Tick yells out, "Spoon!"

I don't bother answering questions that are not intended to be answered. For example, if someone is just making a hate comment or trying to be gross. They are a waste of my time and my efforts.
I do try to answer questions that are asked respectfully even if the person disagrees with me providing it is not specifically stated to be for someone else...atheists for example.

Glad youre feeling better. But I still answer them - after all, laughing at other's ignorance makes me feel good. Wait a sec....no it doesnt...it frightens me. So, I share some sanity where it is needed most.

I answer any question that I feel I am capable of answering. Whether it's with a simple yes or no...or something a bit more detailed...peace

Yes, I have. Now, I just try to answer those questions where I have specific knowledge. There are so many (shall I call them) "stupid" questions. A teacher once said, "there are no stupid questions." I think now I would have to disagree.

I guess I still do it because I answered your question which is really an excuse for you broadcasting your opinion and not a genuine attempt to solicit answers and opinions.

"There is much that cannot be known by thinking or reasoning. There are other ways of knowing and there are mysteries that cannot be grasped intellectually. Healing often comes through opening to other ways of knowing, to the mystery of life, and to not knowing. In opening to both knowing and not knowing, you come face to face with the wonder of life and its boundless possibilities."
