Yes, it's partly responsible. Any religion that would oppose the use of condoms in this day and age has outlived its usefullness...if it was ever useful in the first place.

No.

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).
3. Married couples should welcome God's gift of children and, therefore, artificial birth control is against the will of God.

If the world is going to ignore teachings about chastity (1 & 2), then why is the world so upset about teaching artificial birth control (3)?

People who are already ignoring the more important teachings about chastity (1 and 2) should have no problem ignoring the less important teaching of artificial birth control (3).

Even if a person infected with AIDS was to use a condom to help protect his or her spouse, condoms are not 100% effective (read the box) and the spouse may be infected and die anyway. A person who truly loves their spouse would not endanger them in this way.

In regards to sex outside of marriage, the Church makes it a practice not to tell people how to sin. Fornication with or without a condom is still fornication. Adultery with or without a condom is still adultery.

With love in Christ.

exciting article and that i ought to have one remark to it: no longer all non secular communities are in charge for the AIDS epidemic. The AIDS epidemic began in Western Africa, so that you will be able to imagine that it is the position the utmost expenditures of ailment should be. No. between the Muslim inhabitants in those countries the superiority of AIDS is low. between the first countries the position AIDS became suggested, the ninety% Muslim Mali, now has between the bottom expenditures of AIDS ailment in Africa. on the different hand, AIDS became clinically determined in the overall public Christian Ivory Coast jointly, and this u . s . presently suffers from between the utmost incidences of AIDS on the continent. IMHO the reason: Catholics / christians are hypocrites. Their dogma is do no longer have sex until eventually eventually you're married and then merely have sex inclusive of your spouse/husband and sex is meant for procreation applications merely. the top result: a lot of extracurricular interest and "screwing round". The Muslim philosophy tells men: ok, so in case you want a lady, you ought to marry her. really, take as many better halves as you want, yet all get equivalent remedy. So if a guy extremely does prefer to have more advantageous sex than his spouse needs and he could have adequate money to do it, he turns right into a polygamist. in words of skill for STD, the courting circle continues to be closed. And on the girls's facet, they gained't enter into relatives with a guy while not having married. there is also a lot of administration, spying, recognition and stigma at stake so as that this may proceed to be the case. even if it is honest is one difficulty, notwithstanding it really is been effective in combating the spread of AIDS.

The church teaches the word of God. In Exodus we are told not to commit adultery. In St. Paul's first letter to the Corinthians, we are told not to fornicate. It's difficult to justify condoms and safe sex under those mandates.

You and I may argue the public health impact of that policy, and I wish the church were more realistic about sinners, but blaming the Catholic Church for HIV/AIDS is more ridiculous than blaming gun manufacturers for murder.

No... people that practice poor personal hygiene, who are extremely promiscuous... and those individuals who have AIDS/HIV who do not help and prevent the spread of the virus are to blame..
