What do you think about this technology?

What do you think about the Scuderi Spilt Cycle engine (www.scuderigroup.com). This is some new engine technology that appears to have extreme potential. Answer this question with an open mind.

Interesting.

Taking out 1 power pistons per piston pair and turning it into a compressor piston (i.e. as a turbocharger). I don't see how they can claim much greater efficiency, though. Ultimate efficiency is still dictated by thermodynamics: the heat of combustion versus the ambient. Does supercharging the intake really net more than twice the horsepower?
