What's wrong with trusting your own judgement? Also, I'm getting tired of people answering questions with verses out of the Bible, I use Yahoo Answers to get REAL answers from REAL people, if I wanted Bible answers I'd re-read the damned thing!!!!

Sparkles, I don't have a problem with you using the Bible for your personal prayers and guidance, I do however have a problem with scriptures taken directly out of the Bible and used as answers.

t_a_m_i_l, I label myself as the Lamb of God because people never bother to read my profile, this way they automatically assume I'm Christian. I used to have a pentagram picture, but everday I'd get on and have to delete loads of hate-mail from Christians. Now that they assume I'm Christian I don't get hate-mail often.

In trouble, really? I'm rather safe if you ask me. It's not blasphemous if I don't believe in God, if I don't believe he exists there's nothing he can do to me.

You have the right to not use the Bible . . .I don't have a problem with that . . .so why would you have a problem with me using it? That doesn't make any sense at all.

BTW, I use the Bible and prayer as guidance because that is how I believe. The Bible is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. . .

Lamb, thanks for clearing that up ;) Do you also have a problem w/ people using a scripture as a question?

The Truth has set me free from many mental bondages. I had gone through a 1 year breakdown years ago. I was still confused about things after God healed me of it. And Mormons & JWs came around & confused me with what the bible had to say. So, I prayed to God what I was confused about. My mother n law gifted me with a King James Bible. And someone else told me I needed to get a Strong's exhaustive. So I did. I did word searches on what I was confused about. The Holy Spirit led me in the Holy Bible & Strongs much. The Truth set me free from all the confusion.

I trust the Holy Bible. It is the best book for guidance. And the Spirit of Truth loves me to read in it as He leads me in the written Word of God.

Blessed are those who read this book, is written in the beginning of Revelation.

His Word has set me free from a breakdown, confusion, nicotine addiction, high blood pressure, etc... I love the Bible.

Also, people who have rejected the Bible are tho only ones who would be offended by it. The Bible verses aren't for those people. They are spiritually blind & won't receive it because they won't understand it. Bible verses are for those who want to know the Truth about God & to get real true victory answers.

I love it when others are willing to type in a bible verse. It takes time & effort, especially if they have to look it up.

Why is your name 'Lamb of God' when you hate to munch in His (Good Shepherd's) Word?

Also, I must warn you. The Holy Spirit inspired the Holy Bible too. & you should read what happens to someone who blasphemes the Holy Spirit (God). God doesn't just wink at it. There are immediate conscequences. You are in trouble already.

Thanks for clearing that up. A true Lamb of the Good Shepherds field would never call His Word/ bread a damned thing.

I only wrote you were in trouble, because as a Lamb of the Good Shepherd, I know I would be. So, I asked God first, & the Lord let me know in my spirit that you are in trouble.

Writing that God doesn't exist to you, does not make God unexistant. God Is. You are just spiritually blind right now.

If it bothers you, you can ask that they do not put verses in. The verses are there to show you that God has an answer to your question. It is a book of guidance for all aspects. Its a big book of over 1000 pages so if someone gives you a verse its a relief from looking it up....lol . No one is trying to offend you. Im a real person. I laugh, cry, sweat and sneeze....lol. Im sure if you ask questions in the non religion rooms you will get a lot of answers that come from their own opinions based on their own set of values apart from God if that is what you are looking for.

It seems that people, some, refer to what they say is an authoritative source, because they do not trust their own judgement, and need an "authoritative" source to bolster their unsure view;
From what I have seen elsewhere, the Sources are probably gleaned from a "Concordance" or from one of the Computer CDs that has handy Bible references indexed to certain topics; So basically, it is a non-thinking exercise. The Bible is one item that has had the Hell Indexed out of it ( No pun intended) so, people have a Concordance with 100s if not 1,000s of pages of material at hand.

Because it IS the Word of God, who created us and knows us inside and out, how we work and everything. If the Bible holds an answer, that is the answer, because God knows what He's talking about. If the Bible does not have an answer, we must resort to prayerful judgment, to ask the Holy Spirit to help us determine what is right.

Hi, I just read your profile and you say that you are "open for all topics of discussion involving Religion and/or Spirituality. " However, you seem all too eager to shut down those that want to use the Bible as their source of inspiration or that recognize it as the Word of God.

I also find some fault in your logic when you say that if you don't believe in Him (God), He can't do anything to you. Lack of belief in something or someone does not negate the presence or that thing or person. However, assuming the existence of God, which I do, it is my belief that He truly does not want to do anythig to you but has already done everything for you through Jesus.

Peace

It seems as though you are more concern about what people do than yourself. If you get real answers from Yahoo..then keep on Yahooing. I will trust the Bible, it was there before Yahoo and will be, when Yahoo is gone. The Bible is the number one best selling book in the world, I'll bank on it.

People go to the Bible for guidance because they know that pleasing God will give them everlasting life. The way i think of it is that every religion has one God, but they don't say who because they don't know the names of them sometimes, but The God in the Bible has a name. Well that's my answer.

Those who have tried it have discovered that it works, but it helps to start in the right place-- like John, chapter 3. Then see what the Bible has to say about itself in 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
