This isn't a bash by any means; it just seems to me that apologists would eventually get fed up with their religion and one day quit. That's all. Just an inquiry of a phenomenon.

We all have to do this eventually, if we are honest about our beliefs in mixed company. Atheists have to do it, Pagans like me have to do it, Muslims have to do it, Hindus have to do it. It's not "apologizing for," it's "explaining issues." The problems may only look like problems from the outside, or be fringe practices that have nothing to do with most adherents, or be based on lies and speculation.

An apologists does not explain problems. An apologists defends the essential truth of a particular belief system.. Your understanding of the discipline is reversed.

The only problem with the Catholic Church is the very few bad priests, and they should be prosecuted, with no exceptions.
I do not try to explain why the Church tried to hide it, except for the idea that no human is perfect.

However, other than that, there is nothing wrong with my religion. The only problem is, many people don't understand our traditions, so I try to enlighten them.

Because people keep asking questions and we care enough to offer answers. It's not a problem for us; it's a problem for other people. Most problems are not new, though, so it does indeed get tiresome to rehash the same ground person after person, generation after generation.

The term "apologist" does not mean what you suppose: in religious forums, it means to be a defender of a faith, not a critic of it.

Defending truth will never get old to me. I will defend the gospel until the day I die...I love it and I know it is true, that is why I will defend it.
And I love that you call them "problems" - there are no problems to me... more like misconceptions, falsehoods, rumors, and flat out lies that others spread...

My religion doesn't have problems, people have problems with my religion though. I'm supposing they feel the need to apologize for the unecessary crudeness of their fellow worshipers.

I explain the truth of Christianity to people who have problems with it. What's your problem?

That's why they're called 'apologists'... they have to apologize for the blatant inconsistencies in their own dogma.
