if youre talking about playing real pool, this is what i do. you put your dominant hand (the one u write with) at the very end of the stick, then you rest theupper part of it between your index finger and thumb.

holding the Que stick in your one hand as if you were pointing a pencil(so that it slides through your fingers and thumb with no resistance) and the butt end in the other hand. Let the pushing hand move only at the elbow. Now, aiming is a whole different ball of wax. See, BEFORE you hit the ball, you have to know where you what it to go. So, if you hit the ball dead center, it will go straight forward. Hit it on the side and it goes in the other direction from where you hit it. Hit the left and it goes right. And hit it right and it goes left. Billiards is a game of both quick thinking and geometry when you get right down to it. Don't forget that it needs style too.

I will asume that you are asking about yahoo pool. Point at the cue stick. If you hold down the left button on the mouse you can move the stick to aim where you want to shoot. If you hold down the right button, you can pull back the stick for your shot. Pull back for as much power as you need. When you let go of the button, the stick will hit the cue ball.
There are other details to learn, but practice these first. It may be good as a start to go into a practice room.
