Sadly, they're not even that open-minded. Most of the Christians I've talked with don't even believe that other gods exist. They believe that Jehovah and Satan are the only gods in existence. The other gods of Odin, Allah, and Vishnu are all falsehoods.
They don't even acknowledge that Satan is a god.
I've run into a few who recognize the existence of other gods. They are even supported by the Bible, where God specifically says, "Thou shalt have no other god before me," and "Let us create Man in our image."
Ironically, the Christian who claims that there are no other gods are actually going against the Bible. Those two verses do indeed indicate other gods, but the average Christian doesn't seem to care who those gods are. They care only about Jehovah and Satan.

God created Man, or man Created God? Remember that there are only few religions and many different Church's. The problem with Christian ism is that actually is a very young religion. It only has 2007 years of existence and was created after Jesus Christ's death. He didn't invented Christian ism, he carried the idea of a monotheistic religion. He discarded, as well as his followers after his death, the believe that there where more than one God. Is not that the believers stopped believing on them, most of the polytheistic societies where forced to convert to Christian ism, as they where collapsing under the brutal Crusades.is a matter of fact, they where forced to convert to Catholicism, which is the only Church founded by Jesus Christ. Still in some parts of Southern Mexico and Central America there are some rituals that take place honoring different Gods. Haitians still practicing Voodoo, which is a polytheistic religion. In some occasions they integrated images of Christian ism to their rituals Now as far as the new Christians concern, they have never gave credence to the believes that other Gods ever existed, Christians Judah ism and Islam are religions based on Deities, Buddhism is not-deity religion.

There will only EVER be one God in the Christian religion. Of course I am sure any Atheist will have a ball with this question, but why would one be a Christian and then believe in other gods? I do not find that narrow minded... I call that being a Christian. If I believed other gods existed, I would be a hypocrite among my own beliefs.

Man can do many things... he's made use of his intelligence--he invented stupidity. You know, when you have faith in Jesus Christ, God's ONLY way to have peace with God, your faith becomes rock solid. It is just downright stupidity to think that any human can be good enough or be religious enough in any god that humans have invented. There is no morality nor any philosophy that is strong enough to bridge the gap between humans and God, the Creator. Many religions try very hard. Some religions make up a god who is infinite in power. Some religions make up very personal gods....in fact they think they, themselves are gods, the trees are god, the bugs are god....very personal indeed. The Triune God is both infinite and personal. No other religion can claim that.
The one true God is the only one who claims you don't need a religion to try to reach Him. You need a relationship with his trinity self (Jesus Christ brought to earth in human form, died & rose again & is now in Heaven, with the Trinity). There is no doubt in scholar's minds that Jesus was an actual historical human. He himself said he was the only way to come to God. So, you may say he's a liar or a lunatic, but don't say he's just a good man like Ghandi. God didn't leave ANY middle ground.
There are no other gods who has always been, and who always will be. Eternal, infinite, soverign over ALL.

I've always thought questions like these are very interesting. How can you accept other religion's perceptions of god and then say that the only true god is your own? You either have to deny the existence of other gods or other religions perception of god or claim that there is not just one true god. It's very strange.
I believe they are all just as valid as one another and don't see the reason for monotheism anyway. What's the big deal over what are essentially insignificant details?

Nope. Christians believe that they never existed and all the talk and commotion about other gods (by the way, don't capitalize God unless youre talking about the God that is in the trinity) are things that Satan and the unsaved made up to draw Christians away from Christ. As for the last sentence you said , people had faith in them. Yeah, but Satan only lured them to have faith in them through "miracles" and stuff that weren't from God.

I don't believe the other gods died, they just never existed. And personally, no, I don't think they are equally valid just because people had faith in them (although to be fair I might ask what exactly you mean by 'valid.' People were inspired to do great things for the love of Zeus or Athena, but that does not make them valid deities, just good inspirations.)
Anyway, there's my oh-so-humble opinion on the matter :)

I am a Latter-day Saint (Mormon) and I can share with you what we believe about other gods. We believe God our Heavenly Father is eternal, He has no end. He is our God, the one we worship. We do believe though, there are other gods out there "somewhere" but we do not know them or woship them.
We also believe we are God's spirit children, given a body here on earth and must prove ourselves worthy to again be in his presence, and thus we will also become eternal beings - because of Christ's atonement and resurrection. All who ever lived or will live will have the gift of immortality.
Hopefully that answered your question...

Christians believe in worship of the Almighty Creator. They believe that are no other legitimate gods but the true God who made the universe! There are other gods who were created by man. In Christianity, it was the Almighty who created man and everything else in existence. Why give worship to something that was made by man as opposed to giving it to the God who hung the stars and created mankind to be in His image and likeness? It would be like an artist carving something and then bowing down to worship it. No validity there! It makes better sense to give glory to the One who sent His son to redeem us from our sins so that we can choose to live with Him forever! What an awesome Father and God!

Well, first, you only capitalize God for the Judeo-Christian god.
Second, I don't think that the Bible ever said that there were no other gods. I think that it just said that God was the supreme god, and his followers should not worship any other. Also, in my mind, god implies the highest in power. From a supreme god's perspective I would think that all other gods are no more powerful than ants. So they certainly would not be worth of the title of "god".
Third, I doubt that God made other gods when He made the universe, since he's "jealous" of other gods and they would interfere with Him.
