I think I've talked to 7 or 8 of the current regulars, and a few from the summer who aren't with us anymore.

I'm not a big phone person; it's a necessary evil in my life.

I have to say though, that a get together in Niagara Falls *does* sound promising.

What do you think? ;)

I have a phone phobia, and I only even call my mother once a year. I answer calls sometimes, but I often sound tentative and unintelligent. I don't think anyone who talked to me on the phone would peg me as having half a brain. Part of this is a very bad reaction to my last phone-intensive customer service job (help desk), where I was just a faceless punching bag and glorified cyber-order-taker. As a result, I am always extra polite to help desk personnel, as I know the difficulties they face (I also don't bash the staff of Yahoo! Answers for the same reason--there are many unseen difficulties in maintaining a forum like this and I'm not surprised that there are many glitches. Trust me--they're not ignoring them!) ; it is one of the most thankless jobs there is, and I'll never do it again. Oh, sorry, I got off on a tangent! Did I say I hate the phone?

There are several people I'd love to meet. Everyone on my friend list (including you). However, I prefer meeting in person to on the phone. Most of my phone conversations are short and to the point.

The idea of a SIG event for RS regulars would be cool. You know like a weekend to-do at Niagara falls. Unfortunately, its much harder to get a bunch of people to meet up in real life than in virtual life. Schedules, families, and finances.

So I guess e-notes and perhaps phone calls will do.

I've never talked to anyone on the phone from here. And I would HATE to. I'm so bad on the phone, I don't even like talking to my real-life friends on the phone. I'd much rather IM. There are several here that I wouldn't mind IM'ing if only I had the time.

I have not talked to any of them on the phone. I'm not big on telephones in the first place.

I'd go with Smarty Pants' conference call idea. Let the talkers talk, let the observers observe.

It would be interesting to see who talks like they type.
