find out what the virus name is then try and find a software tool on the avg website that can fix it. if not try to quarantine the file as future updates might be able to solve the problem.

another thing is if you have any codemaster games on your computer and have installed gamespy then this can be picked up by most virus scanners as a virus.

not all viruses are harmful to your computer some are just there to annoy the living daylights out of you!

If the scanned result says your computer is free from virus then you don't have a problem.Simply ignore it for some time and see if it will go back to where it came from.

Please try to run your antivirus program in Safe Mode. Hopefully, you can catch any self-executable files. If you are not familiar with Safe Mode:

Turn your PC on or Restart. As soon as you see the black and white screen, press and hold the F8 key. Continue holding until you see a black and white menu. Safe Mode is F3 or F5.

Click Start, Programs, run your AV program, install, uninstall, whatever.

When it is finished, Restart.

You will probably find your icons messed up. No biggee. Drag them back into place.

Go into your local computer shop and they will sort it out or depending on your virus software you can see where the file is and delete it. Or it will do it for you.
