Hi what is the average insurance cost for 2 cars (owned by a house hold of 2) where one car(7yr old) is only covered at the min only & second car(new) as full covered.

My insurance just got increased by 3 folds(from 250 to 750) when I bought a new car few days back!!!

$750 seems very expensive. You may want to try a website that compares multiple companies at once to get you the best price. I am paying less than ½ after I did.

Take care,
Casey

Typical. New car = higher insurance costs, due to the fact that the vehicle is probably worth far more than the older one and the level of coverage is much higher. Also, the type of car makes an enormous difference in the insurance premiums -- obviously, it is going to cost far more to insure a Porsche 911 than, say, a Toyota Yaris. If your insurance is only 750 for six months, I'd say be thankful.

Any average would be meaningless. It's based upon YOUR particular details. I wouldn't be surprised that you rates went up with a brand new vehicle on the policy.
