I have a cousin who met her husband in April 1976 and they got married in September 1976. She was married 16 years before and didn't know if she wanted to get married again but he talked her into it and last year (2006) was thirty years(30) for them.

My parents met in February and were married in June, and will be celebrating their 63rd anniversary this year :)

I think the engagement was about a month :D

Yep, I started seeing my husband in October. He proposed in November. I said that I felt that we had not known each other long enough but if he still felt the same way in a few months, he should ask again. He proposed in mid-February. We were married on July1.

It's been quite an exciting year!

Personally, I don't believe in loooong engagements. Some couples think they need to wait at least a year to get the wedding or reception venue of their choice. Those folks seem more concerned about the wedding than the marriage.

Also, I think it is a bit silly to say you are engaged and use the word fiance unless you have set a date and are actively working towards a wedding. Some couples claim to be engaged but never set a date.

Godspeed.

My parents met on Christmas Day, got engaged a month or 2 later, and were married in June. They've been married for 32 years now!

I was introduced to my husband in March 1979. I left town that night and didn't see him again until end of May. Our first date was on June 9th, when I decided I didn't really like him much. He kissed me good night, and I was smitten. We married November 17, 1979. And still are. Let's see that's almost 5 months of dating, and 37 years of marriage.

The solution: When we married, we committed ourselves to each other and to God. Sometimes it has been our commitment to God that has carried us through, but neither of us would change a thing. He's a wonderful husband, father, provider, lover and care giver. Surprisingly, he thinks similar things about me. How lucky can a girl get! I pray for similar relationships and commitments for my children. One of them is celebrating their 4th anniversary today, after a brief dating period as well.

My husband and I started dating in September of 1998 and he asked me to marry him in February of 1990. We got married in March 1990. We have been together now for 17 wonderful years. I would do it all over again the exact way.

Just over a year ago, my husband and I got married after a 2 1/2 month engagement. It was great, and now we are expecting our first child. I guess when you know, you know. Why wait?

I will be. I am getting married 7-8-07, have been engaged for 2 months, and with my man for 5 months total.

All seems really fast, but when it's true love you just know it's right.

My aunt got married without any engagement at all. They just decided to stop off in Vegas and tie the knot while they were passing through. They've been married 17 years.
