Dont listen to what that rose says about getting caught and fined from the law for copyrighting music, that's BS, you would only get taking to court if you was caught putting the music on to CD and selling them to make money, then its a crime, its perfectly legal to peer to peer share online, as for getting child porn on your PC well the chance's of that happing are very slim, i could probably be safe to say that 70% of home PC'S user's some kind of peer to peer sharing so in theory 10's of millions of people will be going to court dont make me laugh, limewire has a program attached top it, when you download a file it tells you if the file is corrupt then it give's you the option if you want to download of not and only a fool would continue to download a corrupt file, i have used limewire for years and downloaded 1000's of songs and i have had no problems and no knock at the door from the police, even if the police were to do that they cannot victimising you and charge you and not charge the 10's of millions that use it so thats all BS, i would also advise you just to download mp3 file's from limewire ( thats what i was told) and they seem to be the safest, and if you want to be double safe scan the file before you open it with your malware or your anti virus software, you would have a better chance of getting a virus and spyware/malware visiting a web site,

LimeWire itself will not harm your computer. By all means download .mp3 files but NEVER download executable files (.exe) as these can carry viruses and other horrors. Limewire will only send you the files you ask for. The worst files for viruses are porn files with attachments. Never download any file from LimeWire that contains an attachment. Happy downloading!

Limewire is a peer to peer application. That means you are downloading files from other people's computers and sharing your hard drive with the internet. Since most people use Limewire for illegal activity like trading music, movies and software, a large amount of the files are infected. Criminals make perfect victims for hackers, since the hackers know that their victims can't complain without confessing to downloading a virus while committing a crime themselves. It's like complaining that you broke into a jewelry store and stole a bunch of diamonds but they turned out to be glass. Recent studies by computer security groups have found that as many as 60% of files in P2P networks are infected with some kind of malware. And since you're sharing your hard drive with the rest of the internet, there's always a chance you'll find yourself facing the police and trying to explain how the child porn got on your computer - you were just trying to steal thousands of dollars of music and your computer got owned and turned into a server for material that's even more illegal.
Also, a virus scanner won't protect you from a lawsuit for copyright infringement. You're looking at a fine of $750.00 - $150,000.00 per song if you're busted.
