The recall was for a manufacturing plant that made only wet foods so you should be fine with dry as it was made somewhere else.

The Walmart brand of cat food is called Special Kitty. I don't know where some of the other answers are coming from but I've used it for years with several dozen of my "foster kittens" and have never had a bit of trouble. My vet has always been happy with their weight and nutrition. I use the dry formula and the cats do have really shiny healthy looking coats. My advise to you would be the same advice I give people adopting a new cat; ** Introduce the new food slowly, start by replacing a small amount of the usual feed with the new food and slowly, over the course of a couple of weeks, increase the amount of new food while reducing the amount of the original feed. This will give you a chance to watch for any reaction your cat may have to the ingredients and it gives the cat a chance to get used to the flavors and textures of the new feed without causing stress. Less stress for you kitty means you'll have a better chance of her accepting the new feed. Don't be surprised if she picks over the new stuff the first few times, that's normal. She'll more than likely come around, it just may take a week or two. Before anybody decides to start in on me for feeding my animals "crap", How many of your pets were there to see both your child's birth and graduation from high school? I've got three and they still run circles around me, my kids, and every other dog and cat in the park. I've said enough.

As for the recall I wouldn't be concerned. I am a veterinary technician and I can tell you that your dog loves ol roy dog food because it is like us eating McDonalds every day. It has the lowest quality "meat" products in it, mostly by-products. Please, at least upgrade to Science Diet or Technical dry dog food instead. He will be a lot healthier in the long run and you will see an improvement in his coat and less bm's!

If it's not on the recall list it is safe. I have been greatly concerned about this problem myself and I check the list every day to see if there is different foods being classified as bad.

I really don't think you have a problem. I've enclosed a web site where you can make sure.

As you should be. It's not a quality food to begin with. We use it to attract fish, but would never feed it to a dog.

If it's not on the recall list, I wouldn't worry about it. It's probably not made by the company that is doing the recall. if you have any questions, you can try calling the company doing the recall - the phone # is on their website.

dry food is ok. the reason that more than one dog food trust is recalling its food is because they all use the same ingredient. this isngredent is only used in wet pet foods, feed him the dry food and unless its kryptonite he shud be fine
