Finding that consciuosness is circular, meaning we actually see, hear and feel what we are expecting in a circular fashion. From the eye to the brain and from the brain to the eye. Thus it is true that if you need to see god you do, and if don't, you won't.

I'm Pagan. I can believe it. Do you have a link or other reference?

The brain is the most complex part of the human body. Neuroscientists are not even at the beginning of tapping into it and comprehending it. This is not a black and white situation. From an agnostics point of view someone really could have seen a God. You can't prove that there has never been, in the history of the world, no genuine visitations from a supernatural being to human beings. It's just not possible to prove either way. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Scientists had no possible means 2,000 years ago of ascertaining that atoms are the essential building blocks of life. They simply didn't have the tools they needed. So since there was no way to prove that atoms existed, did that mean that they didn't exist? No. They did. Nobody had discovered them yet, though. You can never and will never be able to disprove the fact that people know that there is a God. I know that there is a God. I know by personal experience. I know it not only in my mind, that analytical part of the left brain cortex that is mathematical. But I know it in the deepest core of my being. I know it in my heart. I've prayed and fasted many years to know of these truths for myself and now I have them and I cherish them. No neuroscientist can take that away from me. God bless you.

This should actually have a greater impact on the non-religious community just as much or more. When religion is absent, people rely on their own knowledge and senses for comfort and security. Since this evidence indicates that our senses are inacurate then we really have nothing if we don't beleive in God.

I actually think its interesting when you realize that our only windows to world around us consist of 5 simple senses that can misguide us. What else is out there that we can't sense?

We've known that forever. Those who wish to know God will find Him. Those who do not will reject Him. So, what's your point? That He's not real because the brain works like a computer? Maybe it's the brain that is functiong best that sees what is really before the eye.

It is not news to the religious community. If your mind is in tuned to God His presence will be apparent to you. If you are not it will seem nonsense. The "news" should be to the non religious. If you don't want to see God, if you refuse to see Him, you won't You will imagine all kinds of other posibilities except that it could be God.

1 Corinthians 2:14 (Whole Chapter)
But the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him; and he is incapable of knowing them [of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them] because they are spiritually discerned and estimated and appreciated.

You mentioned any kind of science in your question, you get both sides defending and attacking. It depends on how you want to use science.

When I really needed to see god, how come he did not appear? Now that I don't, and I feel much better.

I agree. God is only for those who need God. If you dont need God, why worship?? Why feel guilty?? Why call to him in times of trouble. It is only for those who have ears to hear. Those without ears, they can believe in campbells soup if they wanna...

Fits perfectly well in my religious background.

God says in the Quran, those who veer towards goodness will find goodness on earth, those who veer towards evil will find evil.

you can't put God in a box and limit Him to what we can do. He is more powerful and Supremely Sovereign for you to put in your little circle.

if you know the story of Paul, he abhorred God, he thought he didn't need God. but God caught him and he became a Christian.
