A maternity store such as Motherhood usually has belly belts so you can see how clothes will fit you for the majority of your pregnancy. I waited forever to buy maternity clothes with my first pregnancy, then immediately regretted it as soon as I found out how comfy they were. They are usually designed to accommodate your growing belly, so you won't need to buy new clothes every couple of weeks. I know Target has maternity jeans with adjustable waists (which were great), and most panel pants grow with you. I only outgrew the maternity clothes I bought at 4 months a week before I delivered. Nothing will fit by then anyway. I just stole my husband's biggest shirt and sweats at that point.

First, congrats. Second-go shopping already! All the maternity clothes come with super stretchy waistbands so shop assure that they will fit you much longer than 2-3 weeks. I had a selection of smalls and mediums with my first pregnancy, some of it depending on the brand while others were that I just wasn't comfortable wearing them near the end. I'm slowly starting to show again, 13 weeks, but the maternity clothes are still just too big. Go the store and try them on with the fake belly (motherhood will defintely have one). And don't worry, follow the sizing chart on the tags of the clothes. If you are 17 weeks and just starting, you should be good in one size. Have fun!

Go buy a couple pairs of jeans at Walmart that are a size or two bigger but are not maternity. You'll use them now and then you'll use them again after the baby is born but before you have your shape back.
I was a size 8 pre-pregnancy. I bought a pair of size 12 lee's bootcut jeans for $12.99 at Walmart when I was about 16 weeks, and I figured i'd wear them for a month or two.
I'm 38 weeks and they still fit, even though i've gained 40 lbs. You might be suprised! I'm super tall (5'10) and it seems like maternity pants are made for short people...so these are the only pants that I've liked wearing this whole time. They have a slight stretch to them and are almost low rise, which means the bulging belly is above the waist band.

I know what you're going through... it's so hard to get stuff that fits all throughout your pregnancy. I didn't want to spend too much on maternity clothes so I went to Target and Old Navy. At both stores you can find regular [non-maternity] clothes that will fit. I bought myself a pair of jeans, black pants and khakis-they all had the stretchy material on the inside sides along with the buttons that let you tighten the pants or loosen them as you get bigger. Dresses are awesome too, old navy has a lot of them right now for cheap too... good luck!

They have maternity jeans with adjustable waistbands. Not just stretchy but inside theres an adjustable button. These will last you all the way through your pregnancy. They also have some type of band that goes around your belly and you can wear these with any pants and you dont even have to button them, this band covers it up. they have shirts that tie in the back so you can buy them a little big and tie them in the back so when you get a little bigger you just dont tie as tight! also, stretchy shirts will last. look at buying used clothes from consignment shops or goodwill.

Hi, this is my 2nd Pregnancy, but my first time wearing Maternity clothes. After 13 weeks, i just couldn't do it any more. When you buy Maternity clothes, buy the size you would normally wear. Im Petite. So i buy small and believe me, the Maternity pants I wear are soooo comfortable. Everything's stretchy! I love it. My baby's not being squished anymore! woo hoo! I got my clothes from Motherhood Maternity, very stylish, yet inexpensive.and if you get enough clothes, you can mix and match, and you won't have to keep buying clothes. I still have alot to buy. Congratulations On the baby!!!!!!!!!!!

You are lucky summers coming. I loved elastic waist skirts from Old Navy in the regular dept. Also anything drawstring. Just wore them a little lower when my belly got bigger. Did a lot of their maternity tee's too.
I wore a pair of maternity jeans the whole way along with baby #1. When I tried them on again with baby number 2, they were then so stetched out they wouldnt stay up until about 8 months.

I didnt start buying "Maternity clothes" untill my 6th month. but when my regular clothes got to tight I went and bought regular clothes just a few sizes bigger. Maternity clothes are expensive if you start to buy them so early. Youll end up having to buy more later. I didnt want to spend to much on maternity clothes, so I just bought me loose fitting clothes that had elastic at the waist which lasted me a good while.
