A couple of 20D nails! That should hook em front to rear, then bend over what sticks out the back!

Depends on your vw.
If your model has the grill/vents in the front below the hood, you can attach a plate there by putting a larger washer or plate (larger then the width of the grill spacing) at the rear of the grille.
If you do NOT have the grill you are stuck. BUT, that said, you should be driving a beetle without some kind of front bumper - even nerf bars are better then nothing. The first little old lady parked infront of you will back up and stave in your whole front end.

That is something you got to figure with. Drill into the sheet metal and bolt the plate on.
