Christian Atheist Forum

Not really, athough the rhetoric and polemics of those hiding behind anonymity makes it appear that way sometimes.

Not all persons (believers and non-believers) posting in this Forum are intolerant or hate-mongers. Any reasonable non-believer would be embarrassed by some of the content by like-minded persons. And judging by some of the believer’s written words, some self-professed Christians seem to have wandered away from the “love thy neighbor” reservation.

Why persons think that the anonymity of this Forum grants them a license to ignore common social graces bewilders me. I suspect that these persons would be truly ashamed if their parents, husband, wife, children, etc., learned of some of the things they write herein. Clearly they do their loved ones a disservice and dishonor them with such behavior.

I encourage you to keep asking questions in an objective manner. You will sometimes get useful responses. I try to cogently answer questions so structured.

Well, I've seen Buddhists, Wiccans, Agnostics, apostates, Humanists, and Muslims on here before. But in answer to your question, YES, the Christian-Atheist conflict does seem to be very much in evidence around here, what with both sides bashing one another, though one might occasionally see a question asked in all earnestness and objectivity. Occasionally. Feelings do run pretty high 'round these parts. But what else is to be expected from a "Religion (or lack thereof) & Spirituality" forum governed by freedom of speech?

It's not supposed to be. Atheists claim that they don't have a god nor a soul/spirit. Therefore, I have no clue as to why they are on R&S. Atheists also claim that they have every right to be here yet they have NO religion and NO spirituality. This is supposed to be a peaceful forum for people who are religious and/or spiritual so we may share our knowledge and inspiration to help each other thrive and grow in wisdom of the spirit. The only thing Atheists seem to do is mock, hate, disrespect, critisize, chastize and show intolerance towards those of us who DO have a religion and/or spirituality. Atheists are on R&S to show religious and/or spiritual people what people are like if they have NO religion and NO spirituality.

Yes, it's constantly a battle around here. I am a Christian and believe very strongly in the Lord our God! That's right, not allah, or air or even nothing. I always seem to run into trouble here whenever I post. But then again so do the atheists. Isn't free speech beautiful!

Mainly Atheist vs Fundie actually. There is a lot of other things here, but the majority of the questions fall into that somewhere.

it seems to be.
funny, when i came here, being pagan, i was prepared for scrutiny, but i found just the opposite. many people of different faiths on here say lots of great things about people of pagan paths. it's really nice.
but yes, atheists and christians seem to think that the other group is shoving thier beliefs down each other's throats.

No, it is a place where some people come with honest questions, looking for honest answers, and have to put up with EVERYONE'S backbiting.
Best advice in this forum is that if you can't weed out the good from the bad and put up with some outright hatred don't ask a question.

I am a pagan, one of many non-christians who believe in deity in some form on this forum.

The biggest arguments seem to occur between christians and atheists, however.
It's not always unpleasant. I think good debate is necessary for learning and growth to take place.

Not entirely.

Some days it seems more that way than on other days.

You know, you just have to be selective about what you read here, and to what you respond.

We can turn it around if we want to, by asking enough respectful questions to outnumber that other stuff.

If we want to.

I'm not really interested in investing that much energy here, myself.

Blessings on your path.
