Yes, actually I'm very glad he's a Christian. If he were a Pagan, I'd have to change my label.

Atheism has Nothing to do with Communism (which is a social and economic idea) or the Nazi's (who proclaimed Catholicism as their Religion). There have always been Atheists and there always will be Atheists.

No, you never separate completely when you have people who continuously try to push their Relgious laws into Secular Society. You don't see minority religions doing this..... Of course, if they did, I'm sure the Majority would scream persecution (as they have shown in the past concerning certain Holidays) and say their Freedoms are being taken away (which they aren't.... minority religions are simply struggling to enjoy the same Freedoms the majority does).

I am glad he is a christian. I differ with Bush on Christian grounds. Countries that have been fighting for centuries and HATE each other to the degree that is happening today. We should not be in a civil war that cannot be won. The Bible tell us that these people will fight to the end rather than accept the others God. This is a jihad war. That is just one opinion.

I completely disagree.

If this country was run by athiests, the government would focus on things like education science. Communism and atheism are not mutually exclusive, and ignorance like that would be greatly reduced if the influence of religion was lessened in this country. And, by the way, the Nazi party was started by a christian, Adolf Hitler. He was a dyed in the wool christian, and believed that god approved of his mission.

It would be easy to separate church and state, since none of our laws are based on religion in any way.

Yes, George W. Bush is indeed a Falwellian style Christian.

I am not sure I agree with you that the country would fare badly with an Atheist President.

How can you believe this man is a true christian? Does not the Bible say "Thou shalt NOT KILL?" What is he doing sending all these men and women to war? Bush Quote..."After all, that's a man that tried to kill my daddy". This war was started to jack up oil and gas prices and as a personal vendetta against Saddam. I do agree that the man was horrible and needed to go, but that was the business of the people of Iraq, not the US. I really would like to know what color is the sky where you live????? Bush is Antichrist! And yes, I do agree that he is very similar to Hitler. It's his way or no way? He gave the UN no choice in the matter of backing him in starting this war. He's an idiot. If they are monitoring the yahoo answers..... hey government!! Bush is an idiot!!!!!!!

When the righteous rule, the people rejoice. (prov 29:2)
- i am very glad that we have President Bush in office; although i dont agree with everything he has done, i still stand behind him and support him 100%.

the Bible says that we are to pray for our leaders if we want to live a long and peaceable life - so yes, i thank God that we have Bush in office, and i pray for him daily

Many of our greatest presidents have been atheists. They SAID they were Christians because they knew that in order to be elected in this country you have to convince the electorate that you are just like they are, which in this case is mostly...Christian.
We didn't become fascist or communist as a result. In fact, the closest we have EVER come to fascism (like Nazi Germany) is today, under a man who claims that God talks to him. Fascinating, no?

I think any country with blurred lines of separation of church and state is in deep trouble. Liberty and freedom will always suffer at the hands of some church.

I am actually very glad that Bush is a christian. He exposes the religion's idiocy, stupidity, arrogance and supremecism. He could possibly contribute to people realizing how incredibly stupid it is. I can't think of anyone better to be Christian!

The home I live in does a pretty good job of separating church and state. I recently got offered a ride from one of our managers to take me wherever I wanted to go to learn about religion.

It seems to me that if the country was run by an atheist then their decisions would be less passionate and probably make more sense though.
