Get the people out and let the animals come back.

Before Chernobyl Unit 4 melted down there was almost no animal life in the area around it but after the meltdown animals are now thriving in the restricted area. Try to let the bad reactor design and incompetent operation have at least one good effect.

I don't think we'll be having another nuclear disaster like Chernobyl, western reactors are better designed (and so are the newer Russian ones) and the old Chernobyl type reactors have all had safety upgrades (along with better rules and operator training) so another accident seems very unlikely (At Chernobyl pretty much everything that could go wrong did).

Let it sit around for decades... maybe centuries... and then people can go back safely... that's what's being done right now anyway :)
