I love New York City! It is a great place visit and spend a long weekend, but I could never live there... I have so many friends that live there and I love to visit them and everything, but there is just too much going on there all the time... I usedto go to the city one weekend a month to visit friends and everything when I lived in Boston. If you are planning a trip there I would suggest staying somewhere near Times Square. I would not suggest going anytime from thanksgiving to new years, because it is impossible (unless you have somene's house to stay at or something) I spent this new years eve and new years 05' in the city at my friends place, she lives about blocks from times square and we had a huge party on her roof and we could watch the ball drop from up there, it is so cool! Its great to go and see a few plays, go shopping, go to Rockafeller Center, the empire state building, statue of liberty, ground zero (although there really isnt anything to see there anymore), ellis island, the NBC building... One thing I love to do is carriage rides through Central Park and ice skating at Rockafeller Center in the winter.
