I haven't looked this up but I believe it's because they believe in reincarnation and they don't want to be eating any of their ancestors. I better stop there, I don't want to insult anyone elses religion - BUT I do have do say, I know a place that has the best steaks - sorry, a gremlin made me do it.

My Hindu friends don't eat any meat at all actually. It's against their religion. They won't even bring eggs into their house. It's about respecting life.

Now, don't quote me on this.....but I THINK it's because they view cows to be "holy" or something....not sure why.....but I think that's the reason....again though.....not positive....
