noticed this women sitting about 20 feet away just looking at me. When I would notice her looking at me she would then just look somewhere else. Then later I would notice her looking at me again. This happened quite frequently and I did not know what if anything she was trying to tell me.

She never made any moves or gave me any indication of what she had in mind - if anything?

What particular signal if any was she giving me that I was not getting?

Hard to say as we were not there. It could be any number of reasons such as:

- You were well-dressed, look like you had money and she the thought she could get free drinks out of you all night if she expressed non-verbal interest.

- She wanted to prove to herself that she was attractive, but didn't really think she was, thus, an initiation of contact, with a stop by looking away.

- She thought you were attractive and thought by staring at you then looking away, it would make you curious as to why she was staring at you and you would come over and talk to her to find out.

- "Queen of the night" like the above poster stated; you were a single man alone in a bar and if you were looking for "action" you would have responded to her non-verbal cue and approached her, that way, no one could say she was pandering or soliciting (at least the bartenders couldn't...the will kick people out and bar them from the establishment for that).

- She thought you looked familiar and was trying to recall where she might have seen you before.

- You were dressed funny or she thought you were funny looking or something a bit off about you, but that you had potential to be much better and was trying to put her finger on exactly what she would do to "fix" you if given the opportuntiy.

The basic jist of all of the above is that she wanted you to initiate contact with her without her having to approach you for whatever her motives may have been.
