I wouldnt be too worried about the tip in this case. In fact, I'd try to keep a VERY low profile in the matter.

How are we talking accidentally burned down? Was it really an 'accident', or was it a "i was screwing around doing something that I shouldn't have done, and things happened that werent supposed to happen"?

I think you should go above and beyond and leave 17%. Better than the standard 15 % but not quite 20%

considering that you'll be paying for damages, as the fire was your fault, i'd say a tip is unnecessary.
