Ever get confused by grocery advertizing ?

Question

Why do Super- markets,or grocery stores ALWAYS use
"TRICK" advertizing. For ex..............
"special" 10 for $10 ... 5oz.bag chips ( when the regular price
is $ 1.10 ea.)
Do they want you to buy 10 bags
instead of 1 or 2 or 3 ?
Why can't they just say Save $.10 chips $1 bag ?

When I first moved here, I was confused too. I thought I had to buy 10 cans of beans to get the discount. I found out later that it applied to 1,2,5 cans, whatever. So yes, it was confusing. Probably to make me buy 10 cans of whatever.
