As a suggestion, pick what you want and THEN make the appointment. Don't try to give yourself a few days to make up what you will have on your body the rest of your life. I always find the tattoo that I like and then put a 3 month waiting period on it to save and to see if I still like it. There will be things that you see and just "love", but later lose interest in.
Choose something that has meaning to you. My 2 tattoos mean the world to me and I do not regret them, because they will ALWAYS have meaning. My mom passed away 2 years ago and I had the word "today" written in her handwriting--"live for today". It's a great way of remembering my mom. My second one is the Kanji/Japanese symbol for "justice". I am going to be a lawyer one day and I love how it looks.
Good luck!

I getting the impression the reason you are getting a tattoo is because everyone else you know has either has one or more tattoos and some how fit into a group who consider themselves "cool" and want to fit in. Hey it is your life, but I personally say you should ask yourself do you want that tattoo for the rest of your life, and are you willing to pay expensive bill by having a tattoo removal or be stuck with some thing you regretted for the rest of your life. If you do make sure the tattoo place has a business licence, and look in there see what it looks like there for cleanliness, ask them about how they tattoo and their equipment and how they clean them. You don't want to get diseases from unsterilized equipment like Aids, hepatitis, and other forms of disease. What ever you do, don't get tattoo when drunk or stone which you will get bad tattoos or they won't tattoo you for safety reasons.

Don't know of any websites on tattooing, but I guess a discreet pattern of ornate links around the wrist would give a bracelet appearance. Intertwining twigs and leaves with the occasional flower would look attractive.
Otherwise, a more daring pattern would be a series of dragons interweaving their tails.

i agree that you need to be 100% sure what you want before you go and get one, i think if you are getting one on your wrist which is a place you are going to see it constantly then you should spend more time looking for exactly what you want, get one somewhere else on saturday and spend more time deciding what you want on your wrist,
i have 4 tattoos, top of back, bottom of back, ankle and stomach and really want one done of my wrist too, but until i find something i really like i'm not booking the appointment,
my sis just had a butterfly on her wrist its very pretty but i think it is too big and will start to annoy her with time, i'm trying desperatly to talk her out of havin one on her neck at moment
good luck,

I don't have a tattoo but I think if you are going to have one you should have settled it within yourself ages ago what you actually want as it will be with you for the rest of your life. Like I said, I don't have one as I don't have the gots to get it but I know what I would have already.... I've know for the past 5yrs.
I don't know of any websites but I feel such a decision should be from within without the aid of a website. I thought of my tattoo and I have kept it with me. I have seen alot of tattoos and I still have not found someone who has mine yet. So I will advise to think well, forget Saturday and make it something personal and unique.

ummmm...have you selected a studio yet? If not, you need to look through portfolios to decide what artist to work with. And if you have, you should be looking at his portfolios and most shops have a computer there with a hard drive full of pictures of tattoos in addition to being members of websites that have even more pictures. Just a thought.

Something else to think about, if you get in the position where you don't want people to see it (like at work), then you'll have to wear long sleeves all the time. I have a friend who has them all over his arms and always has to wear long sleeves which is annoying when it is warm outside. I have one on my back and one on my ankle and am happy that I never have to think about it. I don't regret getting them at all.

if you don't know what you want yet, you should wait. a tattoo gotten in haste or that you are not 100% sure of is not a great idea. you should know what you want for a while before you actually get it. two of my tattoos i have gotten i thought about for three years before finally getting.
