Depends on where and what it is. Having a gimundous tattoo of a snake or a rose on your leg or your arm is trashy. A tattoo on the nape of the neck or breast(s) seems trashy too, regardless of what it is. There's a certain stigma of "tramp stamp" or "bullseye" attached to the lower back tattoo, although I do like them. I think a tattoo that is hidden but can "peek" every now and again is super sexy. I have a purple butterfly with stars that's about 2" x 2" and I absolutely love it! It's positioned at an angle, so it's sort of slimming as well. I like knowing that if I wear lower cut pants it will show a bit, but can keep it a secret for my fiance most of the time. I don't think I'll regret it down the road either, it represents a certain time in my life and it's my favorite color(which has been my favorite color since I could talk) though I'm sure it will stretch with pregnancies, I plan on touching it up regularly. However, getting tattooed is a personal choice. My mom implanted the idea in my head early that tattoos were trashy, but I was fascinated by them from an early age. If you aren't sure that you will like it, or are concerned of what other people will think of you for having one, then you shouldn't do it---tattoos are permanent. Don't get tattooed if you aren't 100% sure that you can live with it for the rest of your life. Good luck :)

My opinion is that the person that has that tattoo makes it look trashy. You decide what you put on your body and there are tattoos that are ugly. I think they can be very classy if its put in a "safe"/"classy" place and the tattoo is pretty and it means something and it isnt big and gawdy. I know plenty of girls that have tattoos and I wouldnt consider them trashy at all but of course you have the people that think all tattoos are trashy, thats their opinion and they're entitled to it but its all about you and what you think about something. I wouldnt regret any of my tattoos because it was a part of my life at one point and just because I changed doesnt mean my past and old preferences do too. You grow, change and learn and its gonna happen all throughout your life and if you have tattoos that were from like 10 years ago and you're not into what you got then, then just embrace it and say "ya know I've grown and learned a lot since that time and I wouldnt change anything I've been through because its made me who I am today." Ya know, I'm not going to regret anything because to me its a waste of time. Why sit around and wonder what might have been instead of living your life fully and happily?

I have a total of eight tattoos, none of which I regret, and I don't care whether people think it's trashy or not. Most of mine were picked off the wall or from a book but when the artist was going over my selections with me, I had him alter them to suit my personality. I have a tattoo on the top of my foot, one on my left bicep( so what if that's typically a guy's tat location), one on my right forearm( I choose each location for a reason), one on the back of my neck, one above my breast, one between my shoulder blades, and two at the small of my back(granted one's being covered up because it was botched) and I will get more.

I love my tattoos and don't regret them. Everyone has their personal opinion, though. I've loved tattoos since I was a little kid and always knew I'd be getting at least one. I don't think they look bad, whether on men or women. However, I don't like names tattooed on women or the ones right above their breasts, because I think that looks trashy. If you are already like you said a nice, attractive respectable person then a tattoo won't change that about you.

Honestly when I first started getting them I was addicted and wanted more and more now I am 26 with 16 tattoos, I am Human Resources Director in the prime of my career and although none of them are all that visible (when I am covered up in a my business attire) I sometimes want to wear sleeveless shirts to the office but wouldn't dare because both of my upper arms look like a bikers arm. Sometimes I do regret the tattoos and have even toyed with the idea of having them laserly removed but I'm not sure if I want to do it because they all have some type of symbolic meaning like the one with my husbands entire name and my deceased grandmother and aunts names and also my child's name. My suggestion is if you get one get something small and in a discreet location, until you can determine how you feel about it. Personally, I love them and can't think of a better way to show expression and or individuality so go for it. Just be sure that its something you want before you get it, because it's permanent.

i love all of my tattoos and in my opinion a trashy girl is trashy whether she has tattoos or not. i know plenty of women with great tattoos and none of them are what i would consider to be trashy. sure i see my fair share of trashy people on a daily basis and sometimes they happen to have tattoos.
i don't regret my tattoos but i made sure that 1. they are meaningful to me and 2. they are done well.
not all tattoo artists are talented. they are just like any other artist. some are much better than others. be sure to research your artist, look at portfolios and chose someone based on talent. also don't shop around for price. you pay for what you get and great tattoos aren't cheap.

'attractive' and 'trashy' are too general to really describe anything -- they're all based on matters of opinions. this is a very controversial issue, so all of these answers that get posted up here will differ.
however, i have four tattoos. they're all on my back where you can't see them if i wear work clothes. i chose that location for a reason.
body modifications are all a form of self-expression. you can either choose to think that it's trashy or not, but people do these things to their bodies because they want to, it's not for anyone else's approval, really. that's why i got mine. i wanted it. i knew where, and i was happy with my decision.
if you really do regret your ink, you can always have it removed [for a hefty price and a large amount of pain].
you only live once. if you're sure of what you want, go for it and enjoy.

I believe that if they are the right thing in the right place, that they can be sexy. Some girls tend to look trashy with their tattoos, but that's because of how they carry themselves and what they got. I have a lower back tattoo and some guy called it a "tramp stamp". I don't care because I love it. It's all about how you carry yourself.

This only depends on you, I personally don't have anything against tattoos but I just don't have a taste for them, I don't like the fact that with time they get like a greenish apperance if not properly kept. And it also depends on what kind of design you get, I think this is the part that accounts for the being trashy or not.

Depends on the girl, depends on the tattoo. A tasteful, unique design in the right place on a girl with the attitude to carry it off can be beautiful and interesting. A tarty chav with a cheap tattoo picked out of a book looks...just like that. Your tattoo will be part of your body for the rest of your life - make sure it's something special to you:)
