That's exactly why religion needs to be kept completely out of public schools. When you endorse Christianity at the exclusion of other religions (including those who choose not to have a religion) you violate the constitution.

What goes into a science classroom should be determined by scientists. That is their field of study. EDIT: Technically "science" is not a field of study itself, but you get the point. There are many fields of study within science. I am an engineer. When I went to college, I learned engineering from textbooks written by engineers. The professors had PhDs in engineering. At the junior high school, or high school levels, the material can be taught by a teacher (rather than a PhD in the field). But the material should still be determined by the experts in their own field of study. So if the classroom is about ABC, the experts in the field of study of ABC should determine the coursework. Why you would let the students decide, or the parents decide, or a school board decide, or politicians decide? They should not decide the coursework for something they only have a layman’s understanding of.

No, it's not a good deal... because pagans and satanists DO NOT sacrifice animals. Gays don't want homosexual sex ed courses, arabs done want 70 virgins for your death classes and I know plenty of social wiccans.

The only ones who want to push their agenda on the easily influenced minds of our children are Christians. Everyone else is okay doing their own thing on their own without insisting everyone else believe it as well.

Get your facts straight before you go making yourself look silly, k?

Is it a 'good deal'? For who? Who determines what a 'good deal' is or isn't?

The teaching of religion or religious doctrine or ANYTHING regarding religion other than religious history has no place in the school system regardless of what religion is involved. If it's going to be taught, let it be taught at home.

There should be no deal. Religion does not belong in public schools as a part of the curriculum. Period. If someone wants to bring a Bible to read on their own time, (during lunch or recess) or if someone wants to pray on their own time, then that's fine. It should not be a part of the curriculum.

Religion should stay out of school.

Creation has a scientific basis and can be taught without invoking religion. We'd be happy if the evolutionary theory were discarded as fact and just teach the kids about things we observe.

Gays have their content presented in sex-ed courses already.

and so on....

A lousy deal. It's not equivalent. If they get to spread their propaganda to a captive audience, then the same right should be granted to those with counter-Christian information.

this is why we need more religious faith schools that dont necessarily charge fees... so the parents who want their children to learn about religion can send them there, and it doesnt matter if they dont have much money, and then the parents who dont want their children subject to that information, can send them to public schools... thats the solution... and I'm devout christian

No, it's a bad deal. For one, you left Asatruars out! ;-)

But seriously, no religion should be taught in school period.

No, it pretty much sucks. For one thing, you're showing your ignorance and bigotry.
