I no longer get the headache part, but I still get the jagged flashing lights (scintillating scotoma). Why would the headaches go away, but the flashing stick around?

My guess is that you are still getting the headaches, just at a very much less severe degree. Meaning, you are on the borderline of getting the painful part again. Be careful with coffee, chocolate, msg - and most of all, stress, which in my case was the trigger each and every time, I just didn't realize it until the migrane was over and I thought back to what could have caused it!
