Agnostic means unknown. Agnostics don't know if there is a god and usually don't care.
If you are speaking about Barack Obama - U.S. Senator for Illinois - He has declared he is a Christian and he attends regular services.

Barack Obama is a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, a trinitarian Christian church located in Chicago's south side. Where you got the idea of his agnosticism, I'm not certain, although there are some UCC members that no doubt are agnostic.

Agnostics are people who recognize that there may be Gods pr a God, but they do not believe in any specific one. They do not worship, etc.

Or for the cynical, - he's atheist (or of some other unpopular belief) and admitting so would hurt his chances of becoming president.
