i usually just cut straight across, but i actually like it better diagonally. dont know why i dont do it though haha.

I regular sliced bread I would cut diagally especially for children because the two pointed ends are easier to bit for smaller mouths and if the sandwich is messy, less will ooze out if the whole point comes off in one bite instead of one bite taken off of a square end.

Across of course picture a cross cut sandwich,and you take that 1st bite from the top after the 1st bite youll be getting less crust each bite

diagonally love pb and j done that way and grilled cheese and even a patty melt lol for some reason just like the triangle shape and the ends the best

If it's square bread, then it's on the diagonal. If it's something like a hoagie, then it's at a slight slant. It's easier to eat and looks professional.

Diagonally. Easier access to the good stuff (I'm not big on crust), and it's prettier that way.

Diagonally in half or quarters with crusts removed.
Makes them look really posh and it shows you care.

I have worked in a deli before and we always cut on the diaginol it makes for better presentastion and it is also easier to dip into soup with the diaganol cut
